Right Rider Access Fund – 2025 Grant Award
To Black River Valley Four Wheeler Club Inc.
The Black River Valley Four Wheeler Club Inc., based in Brantingham, NY, is pleased to announce that it has recently received a $5,000 grant from the Right Rider Access Fund program from Irvine, California. This award will be used to improve off-road trail signage. The funding will go towards installing proper name signs, destination signs, and replacing or adding more traffic control signs.
The improved signage will be implemented on off-road trails in the Lewis County’s reforestation area called the Commons, and other off road trails.
Proper signage will ensure that riders stay on designated trails and can accurately report emergencies to 911. Additionally, riders will be able to coordinate their ATV maps and or GPS devices with the signage.
The BRVFWC Inc. is very grateful to be awarded the grant, with support from our members, and the Lewis County Recreation, Forestry & Parks Office.
This was the 2nd grant awarded to the Black River Valley Four Wheeler Club Inc. in two years for a total of $11,000.
Our next grant will be written to pursue funding for training, so we can become certified OHV instructors, and then we can instruct participants when taking an Off Highway Vehicle safety course.
AED Donation:
July 22nd, 2025
The Black River Valley Four Wheeler Club Inc. Brantingham NY has generously purchased a Public Access Defibrillation (PAD) to ensure that Automatic External Defibrillators (AED) are immediately available for use by lay bystanders when and where they are needed.
The Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) is stored at the RAVEN ACRES Camp ground at 7346 Brantingham RD, Brantingham NY. It's located on the wall in front of you as you enter the office building. Please spread the word! It could save someone's life!
This was done in sponsorship with the Larry Virkler Defibrillator fund that has assisted in putting out over 90 AED’s in the county. We hope no one never needs this, but in case you do its there for the community 24/7. Always call 911 in an emergency telling the dispatcher your location and the nature of the call.
So to know how to do CPR and use an AED is incredibly important. Using cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) within minutes of cardiac arrest can dramatically improve survival rates.
The Brantingham Club, incorporation with the Brantingham Snowmobile Club Inc. and Brantingham Community Association Inc. in 2025 will sponsor a CPR and AED training course for those that want to be trained.
The club thanks the Virkler family and the Larry Virkler defibrillator fund, and RAVEN ACRES owner Mike Dolhof.
Anyone interested in donating to the fund to help purchasing other AEDs in any area, can do so on their go fund me page, 2025 Virkler Defibrillator fund, organization Larry Virkler Memorial defibrillator fund.
